Is The New Cell Phone Law Making You A Bad Driver?
Jason is convinced that California new "Hands Free" law is making him a bad driver. He usually considers himself a pretty good and safe driver, but now he finds himself fumbling around trying to connect his bluetooth device while driving and it is creating a big distraction. Kelly agrees, she is now always looking around for cops instead of paying attention to the road.
Gavin, on the other hand, thinks this law is a good thing and that people just need to train themselves to operate their cars this way, instead of with a phone in their ear.

Good morning! I can't say for sure if the law has made me a better or worse driver. I've basically stayed the same. I'm not like a bird and have my attention easily diverted, which I feel like the law has made everyone out to be.
I totally agree with Gavin on the issue of food and make up. 2 days ago I was driving behind some stupid 17 year old Hannah Montana teen bopper, putting on her mascara. I'm sitting there thinking to myself, "what difference is there between her putting something in her eye, and her sending a text message?" Either way, I'm sure she would end up rear ending some irritable stock broker man, and get rained on like no other by him.
Driving and eating is just as dangerous than using a cell phone. My aunt is infamous for using UTENSILS while driving. And I'm talking about a fork AND knive!

I'm one of those drivers who, in ten years on the road, has yet to receive a ticket of any kind or become involved in an accident.
I haven't seen a difference in my driving, namely because I don't talk while I drive. I'm not that kind of irresponsible, thoughtless person.
Cellular phones are a luxury item, not a necessity. There's absolutely no reason anyone should be having a long, drawn-out conversation on the telephone when they should be focusing on where they're barreling a six-ton weapon of mass distruction. Your friends and family can leave a message. You can call for those last-minute items when you're safely parked and your vehicle is turned off in the grocery store parking lot.
I have zero sympathy for anyone griping about the new law. Having a cellular phone is a privilege, not a right.

I think it's a conspiracy between CHP and the bluetooth companies. I think CHP is getting a kick-back for each one that's sold! I bought one (an expensive one) about a year ago, and need to replace it because the batteries not replaceable - that's nothing but a marketing scam!!!
