We recieved an email from a listener who was upset at the type of content we have been discussing lately, saying that our show has bordered on pornographic.
Here is her email
This is an official notice that I am sending to whom it may concern regarding the crude, and crass discussion of sexual topics on the morning radio show the Wake Up Call. As a parent, and community leader, I find it shocking and reprehensible that a radio station that targets young, innocent children, promotes, and broadcasts, on public airways, topics that often border on pornographic.
During the week of July 21, 2008 I heard the following:
The frank discussion of a date between one of the men on the show and a male listener. Insinuations were made that the two men engaged in homosexual sex.
A discussion of Janet Jackson which included the degradation of the female body, followed by a public push for nudity to be deemed acceptable on network television.
Detailed sexual conversation between an unmarried man and woman who engaged in premarital sexual intercourse.
Jokes about carp fish being placed in the anal cavity of day spa patrons.
A male show host implied that all women should purchase sex toys quoting that women never confuse “Duracell batteries with a” true, monogamous relationship.
The mocking of the death of Estelle Getty by airing a clip of the deceased actress enjoying pornography.
A male caller, was prompted by the show hosts to pick a “Golden Girl” that he would like to have sexual relations with.
A listing of foods that were known to be sexual aphrodisiacs.
In closing, you need to re-evaluate what your radio station broadcasts, before I take further action with the Federal Communications Commission.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
